After bickering and quarreling all day at work, Georg and Amalia head home to continue a warm and happy correspondence with a pen pal they’ve never met. Neither can believe it when they discover that all this time they’ve been writing to each other. It’s a familiar plot (The Shop Around the Corner, In the Good Old Summertime, You’ve Got Mail), but this version is a charming musical with book by Joe Masteroff, music by Jerry Bock, and lyrics by Sheldon Harnick.
